I am guessing most have one lying around just in case. Lets see some of your boom sticks. Heres my mossberg
Actually all of my shotguns are bird blasters but I am wanting to purchase a good PD rig. Maybe thru this thread I can learn a little about them before my purchase.
How do you like yours and if you could do it over, what would you change?
Thanks,

One thing I am changing is the front pistol grip I do not care for these. The stock is made by Knoxx and are simply amazing for reducing recoil. I would recomend them to anyone for serious use. Other than that I am pleased with it and it never gave me no problems.
Here is my only shotgun, it works well for home defense with reduced recoil buckshot.....

Sub,
Is that thing legal? Sweet looking set up. I need one like that with a collapsable butt stock! Looks like a handy little package but I bet the recoil can get kinda tough!

David's little shorty entry gun is very very sweet. I just keep trying to justify buying it from him every time I go over there.
I have a Remington 870 with 18" barrel and 6 (??) shot extention. I have installed trijicon scatter-gun tech sights, 6 shot side sattle, shortened the LOP by about 3/4" and removed some of the stock slide grip so that when racking the slide it does not cover the loading port. Most of these modifications were done to this rifle because I use it in 3 gun matches, in its off time it sits beside the bed.
I don't have any photos of it, but its pretty generic looking.

Hey Guys,
Just a fairly stock Mossberg 590A1 20" Ghost Ring/ Speed Feed deal, with the whopping addition of a Sidesaddle. It gets the job done, but I really am missing my H&K/Benelli M1 Super 90 Tactical at the moment :?...
Respectfully,
Harry

I'm not overly brilliant, so simple works best for me. I have a Remington 870 Express , parkerized, with an 7 shot extender tube. No night sights or ghost rings, no lasers, no holosights, no pistol grips. Just a plain honest pump 12 gauge. No offense to those who find better sighting systems and add-ons to be a must. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I believe that all but the most driven individuals would care to remain on the premisis after hearing a 00 buck round chambered into my 12 ga. The light switches in my house are set in such a fashion so as not to leave me back-lit when I exit my bedroom to deal with an intruder. If the racking works, and they either leave or state their business, kudos. If not, BOOM.

Yep, it is a registered AOW, this baby is even legal in Alabama!!! The Feds think it is a pistol since it started life as a mossburg factory pistol grip gun. It is on a Form 2 in my shop, and the beauty of this is that it moves on a 5$ stamp......as long as you dont add a shoulder stock to it, it then magically becomes a short barrelled shotgun and is subject to the 200$ tax and all that jazz......
i like it like it is.
Thanks,
Dave
Here is one of my scatter guns. This Mossberg 500 A is one of my favorites. Not the fanciest but it will get the job done and then some!

I never knew I needed a Benelli until I used one.
I cut my teeth on a Mossberg model 500 and moved up to a model 870 of the riot-guns.
I thought that the SPAS-12, Street-sweeper or the box-fed Omega were neat but never had a chance to shoot 'em.
I feel that all are certainly capable. Some bulkier than others but my M-1 Super 90 will put steel on target in a hurry.
Pricy! but I can't recommend them enough. I have seen some really fast reloading on the pump guns but I hope my situation will be over/resolved after my 8-round capacity is complete.
(If not, things are REALLY bad. Give me my carbine!)
Bottom line... know what you shoot... practice what you shoot... and be as totally familiar with what you shoot so you won't screw up when you need it the most.

Any good 16-20 inch shotgun loaded with 00 buck will work for your home defense gun. Mosseber 500 or 590, Reminton 870 or of course a Benelli m1 or m4 if you have the extra bucks. My house gun is a conventional stocked 870 with a surefire light. Does have the ghost rings, but in all actuallity they are not needed. Carried a Rem 870 and Ithaca 37 for years in the military. Bottom line is I am still here and they served me well.
Also keep in mind a good 223 carbine, or a lever action in a pistol cartridge. Get real comfortable with what you shoot and shoot, shoot and and shoot....then shoot some more
